Want To Succeed? Start Failing!
Some people can give up very easily on their goals and dreams once they find out how bumpy the road can be. However, life is not fair and never guarantees a smooth ride. Trying again after failure can be very hard for some people. Nothing given easily is as appreciated as something that you had to fight for. You appreciate what you have when you push past your limits and work to achieve your goals. Just think, if some of the great minds of the past gave up on creating new innovations, or trying to improve on existing products, Edison's quest to find a longer lasting filament for the Incandescent Light Bulb might not have happened. Contrary to popular opinion, Edison did not invent the light bulb. Incandescent light bulbs had been around before Edison's time. But, the challenge was to find a longer lasting filament, one that could withstand higher temperatures was a challenge. Bulbs previous to that time have to be run at almost a "dim" setting so that they would last longer. Heat and high temperature was the enemy of the early light bulb. After literally thousands of experiments, he found a filament that could last for over 1200 hours. In addition to these improvements, he invented the tin foil phonograph, while working to improve the efficiency of the telegraph transmitter. Edison did not let failure of any type get in the way of his goals. His achievements were legend, because he tried, and tried again. Abraham Lincoln, Bill Gates, Walt Disney, all failed in their first business venture. J. K. Rowling was on the "dole" in England before she wrote the now famous Harry Potter series. With all that being said, you might be thinking that you don't have the brain power to be Edison or Gates, or the creativity of Walt Disney. Writing a novel requires skills you just don't have. In addition, you might not want to famous. Then take small steps in you life and focus in on goals that you feel are achievable. Like getting a better job, more education, or starting an a small business or E-Commerce store. No dreams are too small, or too big. But, you can't let failure get in the way of what you want, no matter how big, or small your aspirations are. Whatever you set you sites on, be aware that part of achieving your goals is failing. You will fail many times, but you will succeed only once. Failure is a lesson, and a clue that you need to head in a different direction. It does not mean you are not good at what you are doing, or that you should stop trying. It just means you got off track and need to choose a new direction. It shows you what not to do on your road to finding what works. If you give up, you will never know if you can achieve your goals or not. Remember, Winston Churchill said " Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm".

Contributor's Note
Just a few more points to ponder. Let me add that paramount to your personal success is motivation. Motivation comes from within. While seminars designed to illuminate your spirit can be great cheer leading events, i.e., Anthony Robbins seminars - it cannot provide everyone with the specific tools needed to meet everyone's individual goals and aspirations. The inner voice of your own motivational desires is what drives you toward success. In addition, consistent application of principles that are proven to produce a successful outcome in your field of endeavor is the path to a positive outcome. If you are single minded in purpose, then critics and negative influences will roll off you like water on a Ducks back. As mentioned in the article, you will fail many times, but it only takes one time to succeed. You might not find your passion or your motivation right away. You could find it later in life. However, or whenever you find out what opens the flood gates of your ultimate interest, don't let failure, or people who don't understand your motivations get in the way..
